takes place when the demands and expectations from individuals exceed their
ability.
The moment one feels that he has lost control of any situation and
feels helpless, is when this companion approaches. This is something innate and
has two sides to it. It can lead to positive outcomes or can completely affect
the individual. It has adversities like effects on the central nervous system,
increase in blood pressure, muscle tension, immune system issues and serious
mental issues. In an attempt to avoid these effects, let’s look at a few
tactics, for those aren’t able to channel their stress towards positive results:

It may be hard and may tend to cause more
tension while leaving your task undone but the break is essential. When such
tension builds up, it gets hard to focus on positive outcomes and the only
thing occupying the mind is worry. Hence, it is necessary to calm oneself,
clear out the mind and undertake an interesting or relaxing activity. This relaxes
the stress and makes way for practical thoughts and not over exaggerated ones. Working
with a composed mind paves way for productive and reasonable thoughts. The
activity can be anything you enjoy, this varies among individuals, it can be
shopping for some or even listening to music for others.
Note down the exact task and plan systematically
While taking a break, take down the task at
hand. Pen down the necessary things to do, in the order of priority.
Rationalize the task, and look at the positive reasons for you wanting to do
it. Think in systematic manner as to doing the task step by step, steadily. Try
to motivate yourself with regard to the outcome. Don’t over exaggerate and
build up unnecessary thoughts. Deal with each step one by one. You’ll see
yourself stressing about something that isn’t as big as you made it out to be.
Meditate
When you feel things are completely out of
control and you are almost giving up, close your eyes and take a deep breath. Relax
your senses and try to empty out your mind. You can either do this or pray, depending
on what is comfortable. Being at peace with oneself is a major stress relieving
factor as it helps you to realize the actual reason for stress and helps to focus
on the problem.
Exercise
Any form of physical fitness or mental fitness
can easily help in de-stressing the body. A long walk, jog , swim or even
reading in certain cases can help in deviating ones mind. It relaxes the body
so that you can prepare yourself to undertake such tasks.
Talk it out
It always helps to let out the problems that
affect you. The building up of stress and negative thoughts can be devastating
to the person after some time. It can eat you up hence its healthy to share
your problem not just in order to get solutions but also just to let yourself
feel light. You never know who could help out of genuine care. Sometimes we may
just want to vent out the burden we carry. This in turn paves way for a clear
mind which can help one tackle problems in a non stressful manner.
Massages
It isn’t required that one needs to go to a spa center
and pay for something expensive but rather a simple massage at your convenient
place. A head massage, oil massage, perfume massage or even chocolate massages
help in loosening your body and relax the tense muscles. There is a feel good
factor that is played upon. This is in turn helps you think in a calm manner.
Create time management techniques
The basic problems for this overloaded stress in
the inability to complete tasks at the given time. The time factor shouldn’t be
feared but there should be a systematic way of prioritizing events so that the
work load is evenly distributed and make sure you stick to the plan before it
pikes up and gets out of hand.
Stop pondering and focus on a solution
The key is not to drown in the pool of problems which
adds and creates unnecessary pressure. In fact, think positively to derive
solutions instead of piling up the sorrow. Don’t stop at the problem, but
always strive to come out of it. Positive thinking and self motivation is the
important factor in lifting oneself out of the pity party.
