10 activities that can act as replacements for your workouts

Laziness ,the root cause of all disproportionate body shapes! Very few are genuinely motivated to go through the process of working out or training. Despite that, they still want to keep fit and worry about their weight. Such people should develop ways to keep themselves active throughout the day , so that they can improve their metabolism... A few suggestions that could be replacements for work outs are: 

1. Brisk walk up and down :


 Try not to sit in one place for the entire time. Get up, walk around and try moving around as much as possible. This way, you get rid of lethargy and its like a warm up for your body.

2. Jump rope: 


Skipping is something to do for passing time and its fun to do as well. Think of it as a game and skip around for maybe 10-15 minutes. It really helps for overall toning.

3. Hip rise and legs curlers on the bed : 

There’s not much of strain involved while just stretching it out on your bed. Just keep your hands behind your back, while keeping your legs straight, lift it up and down. Another thing is while sitting on the edge of the bed, bend your knees at an angle and move your legs in and out while closing your knees.

4. Hanging on door frame ceilings: 

This could be done if there is an availability of a support above the door frame. Just hanging on to that and doing pull ups is a good workout.

5. Side twists: 
Whenever you’re randomly standing or doing nothing, just stand straight keeping your hands folded ,turn side to side a few times. Keep doing this at random times. This is good workout for the sides.

6. Hula hoops: 


This is a fun as well as effective way to burn calories! The lighter the hoop, the more effort is required to rotate it around your waist hence burning more calories.

7. Belly dancing: 

This may seem amusing and awkward but is very helpful in building abs, core strength and giving a good form. It’s easy to learn and once the art is learnt , one would actually enjoy doing so.

8. Zumba dancing: 
A very current trend that is the reason for the weight loss of a lot of people. It’s exciting, thrilling and Burns immense amount of calories. It includes the various dance styles like salsa, jazz, jive, samba and a combination of many other dance forms. One can do this at home by looking up YouTube tutorial videos.

9. Playing with your dog: 
Those who do have a dog, take full advantage of that and run along with him. It requires a lot of energy to cope up with your pet. What better way to loose some calories!

10. Pilates: 

This is a form of pre- dance workout that involves focus on the core muscles. It takes place in a bent position , while bending the knees and keeping the back straight. This ensures flexibility, strength and body balance. It can be done at any time.
